Steps to Install BRC Fencing for Long-Lasting and Neat Workmanship

BRC (British Reinforced Concrete) fencing is known for its strength, ease of installation, and simple yet modern appearance. It is widely used in industrial areas, residential areas, schools, and even public areas. However, to ensure strong, neat, and long-lasting results, proper installation requires proper steps.

Here is a guide to installing BRC fencing that you can use as a reference.

1. Prepare the Installation Area and Measure the Post Spacing
Clear the area of any bushes or obstructions. Measure the length of the land and determine the distance between the posts, usually 2.4 meters, according to the standard BRC panel size. Mark the post locations using string and stakes.

2. Dig the Foundation Holes for the Posts
Dig foundation holes 30–50 cm deep, depending on the height of the fence. The typical size of the holes is around 20x20 cm. Ensure the depth is even to ensure the fence remains level.

3. Prepare the Posts and Mix the Concrete
Use galvanized iron posts or epoxy paint to prevent rust. Prepare a concrete mix with a 1:2:3 ratio (cement: sand: gravel), then place the posts into the holes and pour the concrete. Wait until it has completely hardened (approximately 24 hours) before installing the fence panels.

4. Attach the BRC Fence Panels to the Posts
Once the posts are secure, attach the BRC panels using U-bolts or special clamps. Ensure the panels are level and plumb, then tighten all fasteners.

Additional tips:

Start installation from a corner for a neater finish.

Use a spirit level or string to ensure the fence lines are neat.

5. Finishing and Final Inspection
Recheck all connections, bolts, and panel positions. If necessary, coat the joints with anti-rust paint or additional protection, especially if the area is prone to direct rain.
