How to Store PVC Pipes So They Don't Break Easily

PVC pipes are known as strong, lightweight, and durable materials. However, if stored improperly, these pipes can become brittle, bend, or even break before use. To ensure that the pipes remain in the best condition, here are some ways to store PVC pipes properly.

1. Store in a Flat and Level Place
PVC pipes stored on uneven surfaces can bend or break due to uneven pressure. Make sure to store them on a flat floor or use a special storage rack.

2. Avoid Direct Sunlight Exposure
UV rays can weaken the PVC structure and make it more brittle. If you have to store outdoors, use a tarpaulin or cover that can protect the pipes from direct sunlight.

3. Don't Stack Too High
Stacking pipes too high can cause excessive pressure on the pipes at the bottom, increasing the risk of cracking or breaking. It is better to set the storage to a maximum height of 1.5 meters to avoid excessive load.

4. Store in a Horizontal Position
Horizontal storage is more recommended than vertical, because it reduces the risk of falling and being hit which can cause cracks at the end of the pipe. Use a base or pallet to keep the pipe stable.

5. Avoid Extreme Temperatures
PVC pipes can become brittle if exposed to temperatures that are too cold or too hot for a long period of time. If they must be stored in a room with extreme temperatures, make sure there is good air circulation to maintain the stability of the material.

PVC pipes can last a long time if stored properly. By storing them in a flat place, protected from the sun, not stacked too high, in a horizontal position, and at a stable temperature, you can ensure that the pipes remain in prime condition before use.
